IAPA Event Round Up: December 2018

2018 has been quite a busy and eventful year for IAPA! 

We’ve worked hard to provide our members with networking opportunities and valuable data and analytics insights from the best in the industry at our annual Advancing Analytics conference.

In addition, we also took a moment in time to celebrate the best leaders the data and analytics industry has to offer with our Top 25 Analytics Leaders event.

And in the later part of this year, IAPA Managing Director Annette Slunjski was invited to speak at a suite of reputable data-led events where she had the privilege of sharing her breadth of knowledge and expertise relating to data and analytics and its current landscape.

Here are some of the highlights from 2018...

IAPA Advancing Analytics Conference

We’re working to expand the understanding of data and analytics among business stakeholders, including those in c-suite and board positions. At the IAPA National Conference ‘Advancing Analytics’, the c-suite panel of (left to right) Michael Ilczynski, CEO, Seek; Amanda Fleming, Chief Transformation Officer, Super Retail Group; and Kate Carnell AO, Ombudsman, Australian Small Business and family Enterprise Ombudsman joined AADL CEO Stephen Porges to discuss data’s role in decision making and how the c-suite really views the role of analytics.

IAPA Top 25 Analytics Leaders

The inaugural IAPA Top 25 Analytics Leaders program saw Matt Kuperholz, Chief Data Scientist , PwC named as #1 and Sandra Hogan, Group Head, Customer Analytics, Origin Energy named as #2 Analytics Leaders in Australia.

Future Data 2018

IAPA chaired Day 1 of the Future Data 2018 Conference in Sydney including providing the opening presentation on “Beyond the hype: are you ready for the data economy?”

2018 Annual ClubsNSW Conference

With over 13 million memberships across 6,400 clubs, Clubs Australia is continually exploring how to help clubs across Australia deliver better experiences to their members. IAPA added to the discussion on data, governance, data-driven operations and marketing at the ClubsNSW Conference in Sydney. Watch the video here.

Australian Chamber Biz Leaders Panel

IAPA moderated the discussion panel at the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Digital Economy networking event, featuring Hon Ed Husic MP, Shadow Minister for Human Service and Shadow Minister for the Digital Economy. The panel discussed the digital economy, innovation, business transformation and data’s role in businesses of the future. 'Modern Data Organisation Press & Analyst' Lunch

Invited as a voice of industry, IAPA participated in the 'Modern Data Organisation Press & Analyst' lunch organised by Tableau. Discussion was wide and varied with the need for data literacy across all Australian businesses discussed with enthusiasm and in detail. Read more in this article from Which-50. 

Tealium Digital Velocity

IAPA provided its perspective on the importance of data, analytics and data literacy to Australian business at the Tealium Digital Velocity Conference in Sydney.

We have another year of analytics events, discussions and knowledge sharing planned for 2019.
