A market research consultancy based in Melbourne requires a statistician to become part of their research team. They conduct a range of research activities including social research for policy development, stakeholder satisfaction studies, and one-off studies involving qualitative and quantitative data, sometimes with very large datasets.
 
This Statistician will be required to:

• build structural equation models from large data sets
• develop indices of employee and customer satisfaction which are customised to fit different organisations
• conduct multivariate analysis on small and large datasets
• combine quantitative textual analysis with numeric analysis
• design and create samples from population data.

The successful candidate will have:

• advanced level SPSS skills, including AMOS
• structural Equation Modelling/Predictive Modelling
• advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly charting in Excel and style sheets in Word
• a post-graduate qualification, preferably in Mathematics or Science
• advanced written English skills.

Ideally you will have:

• 5-10 years experience in project work for corporate and government clients in a variety of industries and contexts
• experience in presenting a range of statistical concepts to those who have never been exposed to statistics.
